The total investment of the project is 33 billion yuan. It is planned to start construction in 2020. After completion in 2022, it can achieve 34 billion yuan of sales revenue, 5 billion yuan of profits and taxes, and more than 6000 new jobs. NISCO's main products include hot-rolled coil, hot-rolled sheet, cold-formed plate, pickling sheet, galvanized sheet, section steel, etc. it is currently the world's largest production and processing base for ESP products. In 2019, it achieved sales revenue of 82.5 billion yuan, net profit of 7.95 billion yuan, and crude steel output of 14.2 million tons. According to this calculation, only two enterprises have the actual production capacity of 22.7 million tons in Rizhao, and there are 9.06 million tons of production capacity in Rizhao steel group. The second phase of Rizhao Iron and Steel Group is currently in the planning stage.

According to the introduction of Fangchenggang Municipal government, there are four steel-making enterprises settled in Fangchenggang City, namely Guangxi Shenglong metallurgical Co., Ltd., Guangxi iron and Steel Group Co., Ltd., Fangchenggang Fucheng iron and Steel Products Co., Ltd., and Fangchenggang Jinxi Section Steel Technology Co., Ltd., which are located in Fangchenggang Economic Development Zone and Fangcheng District Maoling Industrial Park. Among them, there are 3 enterprises with long process blast furnace and converter steelmaking, and 1 enterprise with short process electric furnace steelmaking. The steel production capacity of Fangchenggang City is about 20 million tons, and the steel production capacity of the whole city will reach 30 million tons by 2025.
Guangxi Shenglong Metallurgy Co., Ltd., founded in 2003, is a joint-stock private enterprise invested and founded by Fujian entrepreneurs in Fangchenggang City, with a registered capital of 3 billion yuan. In 2019, the operating revenue is 28.4 billion yuan, and the net profit is 1.23 billion yuan. Shenglong metallurgy has 6.06 million tons of iron making capacity and 7 million tons of steel production capacity, which will eventually form a scale of nearly 10 million tons of steel production capacity.
On June 28, 2020, the No.1 blast furnace of Fangchenggang iron and steel base project of Liugang was put into operation, and the whole line commissioning ceremony was successfully held in the steel-making plant of Fangchenggang iron and steel base. It is reported that the first phase of the project is constructed according to the 9.2 million tons of steel approved by the national development and Reform Commission, with a total investment of 45 billion yuan. In the long term, the Fangchenggang iron and steel base of Liuzhou Iron and Steel Co., Ltd. will build 4 3200 m3 blast furnaces and 7 200 t steel-making converters, with a pig iron production capacity of 10.68 million tons and a crude steel production capacity of 14.7 million tons.
On September 3, 2019, the signing ceremony of Fangchenggang green, efficient and intelligent section steel production base project of Hebei Jinxi iron and steel group was held in Fangchenggang City Conference Center. The 10 million tons / year whole process steel project invested and constructed by Jinxi iron and Steel Group in Fangchenggang City will be settled in Fangchenggang economic Development Zone. The project is planned to be constructed in two phases. The investment of phase I project is about 17 billion yuan, and the transfer of steel production capacity is about 5 million tons.
Related to Fangchenggang, the implementation of which has not yet been confirmed. In June 2018, the industry and Information Commission of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region issued the "list of major industrial projects in the autonomous region in 2018", including the plan of Jingye Group Co., Ltd. to build a "5.7 million tons of steel production capacity transfer project" in Fangchenggang City, Guangxi, with a total investment of 20.9 billion yuan!
